About FreeMarket
What is FreeMarket?
FreeMarket is a UK property advertising platform that lets private sellers — and any other entity — advertise homes for sale without going through a traditional estate agent. Instead of paying thousands in commission, sellers pay a single flat fee of £20 to list their property for 180 days.
How does it work?
- 1.Create an account — sign in with your email address. No password needed.
- 2.Create your listing — fill in the property details, upload photos, and provide the required material information under the DMCC Act 2024.
- 3.Pay the £20 fee — a single one-time payment. No commission. No hidden charges.
- 4.Go live — after a brief review, your listing goes live and buyers can contact you directly.
What FreeMarket is not
FreeMarket is an advertising platform. We are not an estate agent and we do not provide estate agency services. We do not value properties, provide mortgage advice, hold money, or verify ownership. We do not act as an intermediary in any transaction. Buyers must conduct their own due diligence.
UK compliance
FreeMarket supports compliance with the DMCC Act 2024 by requiring sellers to provide complete material information before a listing can be published. Scottish listings require a Home Report upload in accordance with the Housing (Scotland) Act 2006.
